Alicia Vikander is an actress, already very successful in her native Sweden. The 26-year old started her fame in a popular Swedish TV drama Andra Avenyn and in Swedish feature films such as Pure (2010) and The Crown Jewels (2011). Her role in Pure led to Vikander winning the Rising Star Award in 2010 at the Stockholm Film Festival and the Shooting Star Award at the Berlin International Film Festival.

In 2012, Vikander had her fist role in an English-speaking film in Anna Karenina co-starring Kiera Knightley. She also appeared in The Fifth Estate (2013) co-starring Benedict Cumberbatch. She was named as one of the 10 Actors to Watch: Breakthrough Performances of 2012 at the 20th Hamptons International Film Festival and was nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2013.

Having become the latest in a wave of Scandinavian talent to break British shores, Vikander has an exciting couple of years ahead.  Firstly is Australian crime thriller Son of a Gun (2014) co-starring Ewan McGregor and then The Man from U.N.C.L.E (2015) co-starring Henry Cavill and Hugh Grant. There is also Seventh Son co-starring Julianne Moore and Jeff Bridges, and Testament of Youth co-starring Kit Harrington.

Vikander is currently filming Tulip Fever (2015) co-starring Academy-award winner Christoph Waltz. It has also been announced she will be star with Michael Fassbender in The Light Between Oceans for DreamWorks and opposite Eddie Redmayne in The Danish Girl directed by Tom Hooper. Judging by her future projects, Vikander is soon going to be one of the most in-demand actresses in the film industry.
