Six time Grammy award winner, Global Fashion icon, and equality activist Lady Gaga has been adding more to her resume this Fall with debuting her highly anticipated role as “The Countess” in American Horror Story: Hotel. Her horrific demeanor, serial killer mindset, and mysterious craving for human blood have the audience wanting more and more. The show brought in 6 million viewers for the season premiere and took the number 2 spot of the night behind the season premiere of Empire on Fox.

Gaga has also released a brand new music video for her song “Til It Happens to You” on Vevo last month. Gaga worked on this song to display a powerful message about sexual assault on college campuses today. Her song will be featured in the upcoming documentary The Hunting Ground which displays the horrific toll sexual assault can take on a person and their families.

The Mother Monster has also collaborated within the fashion world this month, appearing in Tom Ford’s revolutionary 2016 spring collection film online. Lady Gaga both stars in the fashion video campaign and is used as the back track with her modern cover of “I Want Your Love” by Chic. As Gaga is known for her iconic fashion statements, we hope more collaborations with designers are to come in the future.

Lady Gaga is rocking the entertainment world this Fall and we cannot wait to see what else she has in store.

Ellinor Olovsdotter, better known as Elliphant is a 29 year old singer and rapper hailing from Stockholm, Sweden. She began her career in 2012 alongside Swedish producer duo Jungle. It was with Jungle that she recorded “Tekkno Scene” which gained national attention and was eventually placed in FIFA 13. Soon after gaining that momentum, she signed to TEN Music Group (also the home of Icona Pop) and has since released three EPs and a full length self titled album. Elliphant’s associated acts include Diplo, Skrillex, and MØ who are featured on her recent-most EP’s as well as Charli XCX with whom she recently wrapped up a North American tour. Elliphant will take a short touring break this winter before heading back out on the road in Europe in late January through February.

Elliphant’s sound has been compared to that of M.I.A. or Santigold as it typically consists of upbeat pop and EDM infused production beneath the singer’s (often unidentifiable) accent. That said, her style does range from song to song. She cites the influence of many genres from electronic to punk and has noted that in her upcoming albums she wants to explore more rock-based styles, seeing that her latest releases have leaned more towards electronic sounds.

23 year old Harlem-born rapper and singer-songwriter Azealia Banks released her long-awaited debut studio album Broke With Expensive Taste November 6th. Banks began her official career as “Miss Bank$” back in 2008 at the age of 17 when she dropped out of high school to pursue her career and was quickly picked up by XL Recordings. Banks spent the following years building herself as an artist and eventually broke out with her hit single “212” released in 2012. Prior to Broke With Expensive Taste, Banks had only released an EP, 1991 and a mixtape, Fantasea despite the relatively long amount of time she had spent in the industry.

Banks’ path to her latest release has been a bumpy one though. According to her, the album has been in the works for over six years now and during that time she has had faling outs with several record labels and two years worth of release date delays, not to mention her countless PR intrigues. The rapper has become known for instigating beef with other artists, ultimately building a public image of having a bad attitude and being a drama queen; many speculate that this attitude may have played a large role in the prolonged delays of her album release.

Regardless of its background, Broke With Expensive Taste offers the fresh and distinct sound that’s come to be expected of Banks. Throughout the album, she seamlessly switches back and forth between singing and rapping over beats that meld jungle sounding drum and bass, spacey atmospheric synths, and Vogue inspired trap. She even throws in some Latin and 60’s surf rock inspiration. The result is something entirely unique that exudes her Harlem tough girl meets inspired artiste aesthetic.
