One Direction may just have found their twin band, but this time they’re
girls! The young and beautiful British girl group known as Little Mix got their start just like the boys on the UK version of X Factor where they were crowned winners in December of 2011. Within the next 2 years after the show the spunky girls Perri, Jesy, Jade, and Leigh Anne quickly climbed the ladder of stardom.

After being the first group to win the competition the girls signed to Simon Cowells record label Syco Records and released their “winners single” which was a cover to the song “Cannonball” by Damien Rice. Little Mix released their first debut album DNA the following year in 2012 which had no hesitation in being a hit sensation with the public. The album charted top five in 8 different countries, and surpassed previous world known girls group Spice Girls’ record of having DNA chart at a higher spot in the U.S then their debut album SPICE. The following year of 2013 got even bigger for the British girls with the release of their second album, Salute. Their single, “Move” off of the Salute album took off and was a major hit throughout major countries once again.

The best part about these girls is that they don’t have one default sound to their music, they experiment with all different kinds of tones and unique mixes. They dip into trap, old school R&B, a-cappella harmonies, bold emotional lyrics, and fun dance beats. These girls just keep getting hotter and hotter with both their style and music. This year in 2014 Little Mix gears up for their biggest UK tour yet which will hit major cities including the 02 Arena in London. Wishing them the best of luck!

  • January22nd After receiving chart success in the UK and US from the release of just a few singles, the Swedish trio NoNoNo continues to relentlessly work on releasing a debut album. They are almost finished and currently trying to figure out the right title.

Production duo Tobias Jimson and Michel Rocwell met Stina Wäppling (lead vocalist) through a mutual friend. After one session working together they realized they loved the same kind of music and wanted to put their energy into one project.

Wäppling spent three years studying to be a psychologist during the development of the band. She would meet Jimson and Rocwell sporadically, whenever she had a break from school. The band got together spring 2012 and though the songs came naturally it took close to two years to finalize and complete a song. The time certainly paid off for they have recently been nominated for Artist to Watch 2014 by Slacker.

They constantly encourage each others creativity in the studio and now produce close to perfect electro-pop music. Be on the look-out for new material from this talented electro-dance group.

Check out their video “Pumpin’ Blood” which they say was influenced from the band’s frustrations with the music industry. This song was recently played during a commercial break on the Golden Globes.

TheThe charismatic Australian Betty Who has signed with RCA Records and is in the direction of being one of the next great pop stars. She has a four-song EP titled “The Movement” which contains a keen choice of synthesizer tones, rolling 80’s Toms and a dreamlike scope of vocals. Her fame really came to light when a viral wedding proposal video set to her song “Somebody Loves You,” accrued over 9 million views and we saw her debut EP shoot up the iTunes chart. The EP is now available to download for free.

She knew she always wanted to be a musician and once she met producer Peter Thomas, her musical career was given a foundation. It took two and a half years for the duo to develop the right sound for the album. The first single, “Somebody Loves You,” sports a solid combination of synths and drums under Who’s stunning vocals. The track was inspired by the tragic passing of Whitney Houston.”Somebody Loves Me” is followed the equally brilliant “You’re In Love” that is best described as a slice of sunshine pop that marks much of Who’s style.  Who switches gears on the track “Right Here” that is ruled by a sweetly mellowed-out groove and the singer’s lush vocals. The EP concludes with “High Society,” a bonafide pop stunner with its throbbing synths that perfectly balances forward-thinking pop and ’80s nostalgia.
