Mei Kawajiri has taken the fingernail game to a whole new level. Within the last year this 30 year old has become one of the most sought-after nail artists in New York City, which is especially impressive considering that she moved to the United States last year. Ever since Kawajiri decided to move from Tokyo to Brooklyn she has been booked solid seven days a week for the past year earning over $300K.

To call her a manicurist is an understatement. She has especially been known for her use of rhinestone, glitter and hand painting. Recently some of her most notable works have been Picasso interpretations, portraits of The Beetles, a depiction of the parting of the Red Sea, and Jay Z lyrics. She usually makes between $120 and $150 per client and has even been flown out to the Hamptons by clients to do their nails. In the past two years nail-polish sales figures have been soaring in the US proving that people are willing to pay top dollar for unique meticulous nails. No one is better at accomplishing that feat then Mei Kawajiri.

Fashion lovers, industry insiders & celebrity appearances filled the large room of the Lexington Armory in NYC Wednesday night in honor of the new Versus Versace x JW Anderson line. The room was splattered with Versus Versace tape and large screens throughout the room for everyone to get a glimpse of the bold clothing designs – we saw lots of black & white, leather, color blocking and two pieces. Each item had the signature Donatella touch.

The room was set so the middle windows lit up tow here the models were getting dressed. Bartenders wore Versace t-shirts and every musical act wore a design from the new line during their performance.

You could spot hidden in the crowd a handful of celebs: Joe Jonas, Taylor Momsen, Christen Soriano & a surprisingly low-profile Lady Gaga (who acted as music director for the show.)

Music played a huge part in the show as powerhouse female newcomers Angel Haze, Dead Sara and Grimes played in between the models walking out and left the crowd anxiously awaiting for more.

Young, unique and beautiful. Seventeen year old Gigi Hadid has it all, intriguing eyes, soft skin, size zero. Gigi is the daughter of former Dutch-model and current Real Housewife of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster. Foster is obviously very proud and supportive of her daughter.

Gigi made her breakthrough as the face of Guess, who discovered her at a very young age.  Gigi has been modeling for the brand from the time she was a baby through her teens.  The 2013-Spring campaign seems auspicious for this young Super Model.

Gigi is currently signed with IMG Models. The teenager keeps her own website, Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr updated by herself. She doesn’t want to hide from her fans, instead she began ‘Ask Gigi’, a way for everyone to ask her personal questions through social media, which she follows up with a video with answers to the most common/unique questions.

We highly recommend to follow this promising, rising Super Model. Stay tuned for updates.

Gucci’s founded charity, Chime for Change is starting a whole new global campaign to raise funds and awareness for girls’ and women’s empowerment. The campaign initiative came from three powerful woman leading the music- movie- and fashion world, Beyonce, Salma Hayek and Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini. The event will start off with a big global concert in London the 1st of June ‘’The Sound of Change Live’’ including big names like Beyonce, John Legend, Timbaland, Rita Ora, Iggy Azalea and Laura Pausini.

Chime for Change is not a new charity at all, it was founded in 1911 and achieved very important issues like American women gaining the right to vote in 1920 or 1966, helping Indira Ghandi in becoming India’s first prime minister. Frida, Salma and Beyonce will add other memorable achievements to these, promoting education, health, and justice for women across the world.

There is more to come after the kick-off in London, the CfC’s campaign will produce and engage more projects. Salma Hayek will be the executive producer of a film unit dedicated to creating ten short films about inspiring girls and women from around the world. Also projects that will certainly contribute to make this world a better place, like a Doctors of the World’s primary healthcare center in Syria, providing secondary education scholarships for 120 girls in Malawi and fighting for the rights of girls to keep them safe at home, at school and in their communities in the Middle-East.

The campaign initiative of these strong and caring ladies, is on its way being a huge success. Stay tuned for updates on this amazing project. For more info and concert tickets click here.

Fourteen year old Jaden Smith, son of Will and Jada Pinket Smith, is following the success of his parents. He has starred in several films and stormed the charts with Hip Hop songs (much like his younger sister Willow Smith) – but that is not all, this young talent even designed his own clothing line MSFTSrep!

Jaden clearly inherited the talents of his parents – both are A-list actors and everyone remembers Will’s rap career. Jaden starred in his first film, The Pursuit of Happiness,  at the young age of eight years old alongside his father and released his first album “The Cool Cafe” in 2012.  Two years after TPOH,  Jaden appeared in his second star role in The Karate Kid along no one less then action star Jackie Chan.

Jaden will be seen on movie screens again on June 7th in the upcoming movie “After Earth”, a movie about father and son (literally, because Will will star as father of Jaden) stranded on Earth, 1,000 years after events forced humanity’s escape, where son Jaden has to proof himself to his dying father.

In reality Jaden does not have to prove himself to his father at all. Jaden has already shown us that he has a lot of talent and is not willing to waist it. Along with two friends (as a group called  ‘The Misfits’) Jaden recently designed and launched a clothing line MSFTSrep.   The brand reflects the lifestyle of the group. Also released his first music video on the song ‘Hello’ last week that has already been viewed over  80.000 within two days!

Check out his fine line at his website or stay updated through Jaden’s Facebook or Twitter.
