    Kid Cudi is a popular hip hop and rock recording artist originally from Cleveland, Ohio. He moved to Brooklyn with his dreams in mind and on a mixtape readily awaiting its discovery. He gained major recognition in 2008 after the release of his first official mix taped named, A Kid Named Cudi. He is currently signed under Republic Records, in addition to his own label, Wicked Awesome Records, which was independently founded by the artist in 2011.

    Kid Cudi is currently up to a few projects this year already. He is soon to be co-starring on Comedy Bang! Bang! which premieres Thursday, July 7th on IFC. People who know Cudi personally say that he is a naturally funny guy- so the show is definitely a different, yet appropriate direction his career is taking him.

    But no worries, Kid Cudi will never forget his creative origins. His upcoming album Speedin’ Bullet to Heaven is still unknown as to when it will be dropped but his Twitter account leads to much discussion about his emotional journey creating his music and the importance of taking the time to do so.     Selena Gomez recently surprised her fan following when she announced on Instagram that she is the newest Celebrity Brand Ambassador for Pantene.

    maxresdefaultBesides producing music for her upcoming album, the 22-year old singer has been busy creating a new Pantene campaign, which is said to be released in August 2015. Judging by the pictures of the upcoming campaign, Selena will be rocking a sleek white gown, beautiful gold jewelry and of course her voluminous, dark locks.

    This major ad campaign was perfect for Gomez, as she states in a behind the scenes shoot, “I’ve used it [Pantene] my whole life, and their message for women — being ‘strong is beautiful’ — and what they represent is so what I embody and what I want my fans to feel comfortable in”. Fans are pleasantly surprised, knowing that this is Selena’s first beauty campaign. We are excited to see what Gomez and Pantene have in store for the future!

    Taylor Swift did it again- another No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart- this time with her new single “Bad Blood” and it’s must see music video. “Bad Blood”, which features rapper Kendrick Lamar, went from No. 53 last week o
    n Billboard’s Hot 100 chart to now No. 1.

    It’s not just the catchy song people are talking about- the music video, which T-Swift herself produced, is full of Taylor’s A-list friends. The star studded cast involves Gigi Hadid, Ellie Goulding Lena Dunham, Hailee Steinfeld, Zendaya and Lily Aldridge and of course Taylor’s BFF, Karlie Kloss, just to name a few.

    Taylor released each member of the cast with their screen names for the video, which each of them got to pick, on her twitter before it premiered at the Billboard Music Awards on May 17th.

    The most established and largest nonprofit art institutions, MoMA PS1 is known to display the most contemporary and experimental art in the world all-the-while introducing new artists to the very selective art scene.

    Anticipation is amongst all art lovers as MoMA PS1MoMA PS1 prepares for its Fourth Annual Benefit Gala on Thursday, June 25th. Proceeds collected will be used towards the galleries Annual Exhibition Fund, a fund by which all exhibits and events are maintained and updated by.

    The event will run from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. and will feature a performance by an unidentified special guest.

    Swedish house DJ/producer, Alesso, releases his highly anticipated debut album, Forever, and it doesn’t disappoint. The album features singles “Tear the Roof Up”, “Heroes (We Could Be)”, and “Cool”. The album showcases a storytelling element that is very rare among house music. It is a very dynamic album with tracks like “Immortal” that pay homage to his father for his inspiration in classical music to underground tracks like “Tear the Roof Up” that get the crowd dancing.

    The album was released off of Def Jam Records on May 22nd, and has peaked at #13 on Swedish Top Albums chart. The single “Heroes (We Could Be)” peaked at #1 on UK Dance, US Billboard Hot Dance/Club Songs, and US Dance/Mix Show Airplay.

    Alesso is a protege of Sebastian Ingrosso, a member of Swedish House Mafia and he has been making hit records since he hit the scene. Previous hits include, “City of Dreams”, “Calling (Losing My Mind)”, “If I Lose Myself (ft. OneRepublic)”, and “Years (ft. Matthew Koma)”.

    The National Football League has chosen Katy Perry to perform her hit song “Roar” during the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show. In August, it was reported that Perry was on the shortlist of acts the NFL had under consideration, along with Rihanna and Coldplay. However, this year there was a catch—the NFL asked the three finalists to make a “financial contribution” to the league.

    Perry visited ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday, October 4th, and shot down rumors that she would “pay to play” on the Super Bowl stage. According to Perry, she’s “not the kind of girl who would pay to play the Super Bowl.”

    The NFL chose Perry to perform on football’s biggest day because of her range of current hits, relatively family-friendly music, and impressive social media following. With 58.1 million Twitter followers, she is the most popular celebrity on the social media site.

    A record of 111.5 million viewers watch last season’s Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos, in which Bruno Mars performed during halftime. Lets see how many viewers Perry can draw in during Super Bowl XLIX!

    23 year old British singer-songwriter, actress, and fashionista Rita Ora has announced that she will be joining the U.K.’s version of The Voice as a host for its 2015 series. Ora will be replacing Kylie Minogue and joining Sir Tom Jones, Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson, and will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas.

    Ora is best known for her success as a singer in the UK where her self-titled debut album “Ora” (2012) debuted at number one and produced two number one singles “R.I.P.” and “How We Do (Party).” Her latest hit is her feature on Australian rapper Iggy Azaelia’s “Black Widow,” which reached number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and is now certified platinum in the US and Australia. The singer is also well-loved in the fashion world for her progressive bold style and has done endorsements for brands such as DKNY, Superga, Calvin Klein, Madonna’s “Material Girl Collection,” Rimmel, and most recently Adidas.

    Ora took to Twitter late September to express her enthusiasm for the freshly announced news, “So excited to be part of; and for my team to win The Voice this series!! Let’s have some fun Will, Tom and Ricki!!” The fourth series of the show just began filming its blind auditions in Manchester, and is set to air early next year.

    26 year-old Sevyn Streeter began her career as a member of the R&B-Pop group TG4. The group released the single “Virginity,” and not long afterwards the song hit number 88 on Bilboards Top 100. This was exciting for the group, but unfortunately they split immediately after the success of their single. Lucky for Sevyn Streeter, her talent was noticed and landed her a spot in yet another all-girl band called RichGirl. Much like the first group, this one dwindled just as quickly. 

    Sevyn Streeters strong point has always been writing music. As time passed, she felt as though writing was the best option for her… and it was. She wrote songs like “Yeah 3X,” for Chris Brown, and “Shower,” for BrandSevyn Streeter Atlantic Records 2y. With over 10 successful singles written for famous artists, Sevyn Streeter landed recognition from Atlantic Records. The label immediately began working on singles for her to work on. Her first couple singles, “I like it” and “It won’t stop” hit iTunes and received attention all over the globe. With that, Sevyn Streeter released her EP debut album, “Call Me Crazy But..” In this album she collaborated with well-known artists like Diplo and Chris Brown. 

    With the platform that Sevyn Streeter now has, she is able to release a full-length album. Rumored to released sometime in 2014, the album will be titled “Fight For Me.” She mentions that this album is entirely inspired by her past relationship. She feels that personal experiences help artists feel a connection with songs and that is what this album entails entirely. Streeter says, “Music is emotional. Your job is to make people feel something. The best way to do that is to sing and speak from something they’ve personally been through. That’s where I write from.” Ultimately, this is what will draw people into her music. Allowing listeners to connect to the lyrics is what draws them in, much like the approach singer/songwriter, Taylor Swift, has taken.

    Her work ethic, writing skills and soothing voice has brought her to where she is today. Sevyn Streeter is on her way to success and isn’t stoping any time soon!

    One Direction may just have found their twin band, but this time they’re
    girls! The young and beautiful British girl group known as Little Mix got their start just like the boys on the UK version of X Factor where they were crowned winners in December of 2011. Within the next 2 years after the show the spunky girls Perri, Jesy, Jade, and Leigh Anne quickly climbed the ladder of stardom.

    After being the first group to win the competition the girls signed to Simon Cowells record label Syco Records and released their “winners single” which was a cover to the song “Cannonball” by Damien Rice. Little Mix released their first debut album DNA the following year in 2012 which had no hesitation in being a hit sensation with the public. The album charted top five in 8 different countries, and surpassed previous world known girls group Spice Girls’ record of having DNA chart at a higher spot in the U.S then their debut album SPICE. The following year of 2013 got even bigger for the British girls with the release of their second album, Salute. Their single, “Move” off of the Salute album took off and was a major hit throughout major countries once again.

    The best part about these girls is that they don’t have one default sound to their music, they experiment with all different kinds of tones and unique mixes. They dip into trap, old school R&B, a-cappella harmonies, bold emotional lyrics, and fun dance beats. These girls just keep getting hotter and hotter with both their style and music. This year in 2014 Little Mix gears up for their biggest UK tour yet which will hit major cities including the 02 Arena in London. Wishing them the best of luck!

    18 year old Austin Mahone got his big break into the music industry just
    like singing sensation Justin Bieber did; through  YouTube. Austin started posting videos of him singing covers on the website in June of 2010, a year later he stepped it up a notch and began making his own personal music videos. As he continued to get better, his fan base, now known as “Mahomies” continued to get bigger as well. He racked up a total of 55 million views on YouTube all together. All it usually takes to get noticed on YouTube by big recording companies is for one video to go viral. For Austin, it was a video he posted in October of 2011 of him singing a cover to Justin Bieber’s hit holiday song “Mistletoe”.

    In August of 2012 Mahone announced that he had officially been signed to Chase/Universal Republic Records. He slowly started releasing singles, his first was titled “11:11” followed by his second single “Say Somethin”. It was after these releases that he was chosen as one of the opening acts for Taylor Swifts Red Tour. 

    From there his career began to take off, and not only with just music. In November of 2012 Mahone became the new “Teen Ambassador” for Lil Waynes Trukfit Fashion Clothing Line, and even starred in commercials for McDonalds and Hot Nuts. Mahone has won numerous awards such as MTV VMA “Artist to Watch”, MTV EMA “Best Push Artist” and “Artist on the Rise”. He currently has a hot summer single out “Mmm Yeah” with PitBull. Austin, who is now also signed with Young Money Entertainment, and Cash Money Records is now gearing up to kick off his first head lining tour “MTV’s Artist To Watch Tour” which starts this February in Miami.
