There’s no need to be a fashion fanatic in order to appreciate the depth of talent and fragile emotions of designer Yves Saint Laurent. Director Jalil Lespert’s new biographical film delicately chronicles the life of the legendary French artist, focusing especially on the romantic and winding relationship with his manager, Pierre Berge.

“Yves Saint Laurent” tells the story of the talented designer as he sifts through bouts of manic-depression and a heavily dependent love for Pierre. Basic, everyday tasks become monumental hurdles in Yves’ troubled psyche, creating enormous barriers to his creative genius. His gift for fashion seems to be teased out of the mental clutter only by the loving, and somewhat controlling, help from Pierre. Ultimately, Yves spends a lifetime attempting to leverage his mental disorders with his extraordinary capacity to create fashion.

French actors Pierre Niney and Guillaume Gallienne star in the roles of the doomed lovers. Niney’s delicate, artistic features are perfectly offset by Gallienne’s authoritative presence, and the two promise to be an alluring couple. Other prominent French stars including Charlotte Le Bon and Laura Smet, round out the cast. This impressive effort of a film — with no less than five languages included — provides a glimpse into the decadent fashion lifestyle of the later twentieth century, and is certain to be a worthwhile watch.

26 year-old Zac Efron began his acting career at the age of 16. He jumped into auditions full throttle and landed a few roles in movies that were not too much of a success. That is, until 2006, when Efron was hired to star in Disney Channels High School Musical. Being a triple threat was to his advantage when it came to this audition. The director of HSM, Kenny Ortega, felt that Zac Efron would fit perfectly with his looks, voice, and ability to dance. When the movie came out, it became one of Disney Channels most beloved and classic films they had every released. So much so, that they came out with a second and third High School Musical. This is really what set Zac’s career on fire. With the success of these three films, Zac continued to work towards becoming an A-list actor.

Now in the year 2014, Zac has starred in two movies, one of which he produced. The movies That Awkward Moment and Neighbors were some of his best works yet. Zac stated in an interview that after the release of Neighbors he was congratulated differently than he normally was after filming a movie. He said that this time, he felt like people truly respected him for his acting and appreciated the hard work he put into the making of the film.

Zac Efron is currently in the midst of working on 10 different films. He will be producing some, staring in some, and doing both in some!
