Straight Outta Compton is an american biographical drama film directed by F. Gary Gray. The film is about the rise and fall of rap group NWA and how they revolutionized the hip hop culture in the mid-1980’s. Ice Cube and Dr. Dre members of the original group played a somewhat unfamiliar role by helping out with the production of the movie.
Each of the group members had a large part in telling the story so the movie gives the audience the first detailed look at this legendary groups story. In the 1980s the streets of Compton were some of the most dangerous in the country. These 5 young men told the story of the streets through brutally honest music that rebelled against abusive authority. These raps gave a voice to a silenced generation, ignited a cultural war, and changed the hip hop culture forever.
Straight Outta Compton seems to be a movie that everyone could get a kick out off. This movie will obviously attract the NWA fans and fans of Hip Hop, but even if you don’t fit into that category there is still content in this movie that will be exciting. This is an R rated movie that contains strong violence and profanity so it may not get to many families rolling in.
