Last years offensive rookie of the year went to the New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham was a highly decorated player at LSU and was rewarded with multiple accolades during his career at LSU. The Giants drafted Beckham as their first pick of the 2014 draft taking him at 12th overall.
The start of his NFL career did not go as well as planned as he had to miss the first four games due to a hamstring injury suffered in training camp at the start of the 2014 season. Giants fans were eager to see their first overall pick perform to confirm that the franchise made the right decision on selecting him their first pick. Despite missing the first quarter of the season Beckham managed to have the greatest season by a rookie wide receiver in NFL history! In only 12 games he recorded 91 catches for 1,035 yards and 12 touchdowns, all franchise records. Beckham’s outstanding season put him in the record books along side NFL greats like Micheal Irvin and Billy Howton. Not to mention he made a catch that is being called the greatest catch of all time!
Beckham has been receiving a lot of attention on and off the field receiving sponsorship deals in all areas. His latest accomplishment was landing the cover for the newest EA sports Madden 2016 over patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. Beckham has a a great personality and may be the one of the most interesting athletes to watch out for in 2015!
