TheThe charismatic Australian Betty Who has signed with RCA Records and is in the direction of being one of the next great pop stars. She has a four-song EP titled “The Movement” which contains a keen choice of synthesizer tones, rolling 80’s Toms and a dreamlike scope of vocals. Her fame really came to light when a viral wedding proposal video set to her song “Somebody Loves You,” accrued over 9 million views and we saw her debut EP shoot up the iTunes chart. The EP is now available to download for free.
She knew she always wanted to be a musician and once she met producer Peter Thomas, her musical career was given a foundation. It took two and a half years for the duo to develop the right sound for the album. The first single, “Somebody Loves You,” sports a solid combination of synths and drums under Who’s stunning vocals. The track was inspired by the tragic passing of Whitney Houston.”Somebody Loves Me” is followed the equally brilliant “You’re In Love” that is best described as a slice of sunshine pop that marks much of Who’s style. Who switches gears on the track “Right Here” that is ruled by a sweetly mellowed-out groove and the singer’s lush vocals. The EP concludes with “High Society,” a bonafide pop stunner with its throbbing synths that perfectly balances forward-thinking pop and ’80s nostalgia.
